I’m not where I used to be

I was referring to this statement in the message today ” The Darkness Is Past”. Under inspiration, I couldn’t quote it just right, but thought I would share what I was referring to. This is a simple reflection and I encourage you to  look at where you were and look now to where you are. One thing for sure progress has been made for it is quite difficult for anyone to stand still.

Well, you can say I’m crazy if you want to. You can say I’m out of the will of the Lord if you want to. But just one thing: where I once was a sinner, I’ve been saved. Where I was once gloomy and glum, I’m happy in the Lord Jesus. I know there’s something happened to me.Like a colored sister said one time in a meeting. She said, “I want you all to know one thing.” Said, “I’m not what I want to be, and I’m not what I ought to be. But there’s one thing sure; I’m not what I used to be.”I tell you. That’s a good thing. You know when you’re passed from death unto Life, when God takes a hold of you and shakes you till your life changes; and changes everything there is in you, and makes you a new creature. Amen. That’s what we need, some lighted candles. Yes, sir.

If your progress has moved you closer to Christ, keep going and don’t look back. If your progress has taken you further from Christ, please go back and pick Him up in the place you left Him. He’s waiting for you in the temple.

Revelation 2010 – (You Gone Get It)

I was thoroughly encouraged by the message from our Bro. Caleb Wesco today. I thought I would share a quote which he referred to in his message “The Revelation of Your Enemy”.

“These things saith the AMEN.”
I like that. It means that whatever He said is final. It means that whatever He said to the first age and to the second and to all ages about His own true church and about the false vine is exactly right and it won’t change. It means that what He started out with in Genesis, He will finish in Revelation. He has to for He is the Amen, SO LET IT BE. Now we can see again why the devil hates the Books of Genesis and Revelation. He hates the truth. He knows the truth will prevail. He knows what his end will be. How he fights that. But we are on the winning side. We (I mean the believers of His Word, only) are on the Amen side.

If we can get a revelation that we are battling a defeated enemy, we can be at peace in the midst of our storms. Bro. Caleb referred to a story he heard in which a son was reading a book and his father heard him saying “you gone get it, you gone get it, you gone get it. The father asked his son why he kept saying that. The son replied, I have been reading this book about the cowboys and the indians. It seemed the good guys were always being defeated and I was so discouraged in reading, that I turned to the back of the book and I noticed the good guys won. Therefore as I read through the book I know and I can say to the bad guy, you gone get it, you gone get it, you gone get it. Thus we were encouraged to turn to Revelations 20:10 and we read:

10    And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Tighten Your Belt

Pastor’s comments:
I was thinking of a song written by Sis. Ellen Burrs. It says when you can’t stand anymore, I will be standing for you. When you can’t bear your heavy load, I’m interceding for you. Don’t give up, don’t give in, this battle you can win. I’ll stand, I’ll be standing for you. While reflecting on this I thought of the scripture in Ephesians 6, that encourages us to stand when having done everything else. I thought I would share that scripture and encouraging quote with you.
12    For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13    Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14    Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15    And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16    Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17    And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18    Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

See, Paul dressing up a man for the battlefield, for the march.
God, in beginning of delivering of Israel, He said, “Now, you ought to get ready for the march. When you come under the blood, put on your shoes. Gird up your loins. Get your staff in your hand and get ready for the call.” I like that.

A man now, when he comes into Christ, he gets his Gospel shoes on to preach the Gospel, the helmet of salvation on, the breastplate of righteousness; girds up his loins. There’s a…

Usually, in the old soldiers, when they put on those ornaments of war, they had a big belt, that buckled it together, holding over their loins, these shields, to keep the enemy’s spears off. What a real lesson that is to us. And when the–the loin begin to get weak, hang down, the shield, they’d tighten up on their belt, bring them up tight again.

What a perfect picture today, when you begin to feel like you’re slacking, or the devil says, “It’s no use.” Reach down and tighten up the belt a little bit, pull up the sword a little tighter in the hand, and go forward. I like that. Be ready for the march.

Keep the faith saints while we press towards the mark of the higher calling.

Keep Your Focus

2 Kings 2:11 And it came to pass as they still went on and talked that behold there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire and parted them both asunder and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Elijah told Elisha “If you see me go you can have a double portion.” Now what did Elisha have to do? He had to KEEP HIS FOCUS. Keep your focus saints. If God gave you a promise KEEP YOUR FOCUS. Keep your eyes fixed on the Word of God.

Keep Going Saints,
Bro. Caleb Wesco
