How to listen to downloaded music
To listen to the downloaded music albums on your phone, here are the steps you’ll need to take:
iOS
First you’ll need to download the music files. For Apple Music you’ll have to download them to a computer first. For Spotify you’ll have to download to your files app. Follow the download link to the album you purchased on your phone and it will download the files.
Spotify

- Open the Spotify app: Make sure it’s installed on your iPhone.
- Access Settings: Tap on your profile picture or avatar and then go to “Settings and privacy”.
- Enable Local Files: Tap on “Apps and devices”. Then under “Other Devices,” toggle on “Local audio files”.
- Move files to Spotify folder: Locate the MP3 files in the Files app, select them, and move them to the Spotify folder within the “On My iPhone” location.
- Access in Spotify: Go to your library in Spotify, and you should see the “Local Files” folder where your imported MP3s will be.

- Connect your iPhone to your computer: Use a USB or Lightning cable.
- Open Apple Music or iTunes: If you’re on macOS Catalina or later, open the Apple Music app. On older macOS or Windows, open iTunes.
- Locate your iPhone: Within the app, find the device section (it might be under “Devices” or a similar label).
- Add MP3 files: Drag and drop your MP3 files into the Apple Music or iTunes window, or select them and choose to sync them to your iPhone.
- Sync your iPhone: Initiate the sync process to transfer the files to your iPhone.
- Access in Apple Music: Open the Apple Music app on your iPhone, and your MP3s should be available.
Android

Note: the “enable local files” button may be located in a slightly different place in settings, as Spotify moves things around when it updates. Look for “Apps and devices” in settings if yours doesn’t look like the video. Then under “Other Devices,” toggle on “Local audio files”.
